Alfred Harvey (1913-1994) was an American writer and publisher and the Founder of Harvey Comics, the company that published Casper the Friendly Ghost, Richie Rich and Hot Stuff the Little Devil among other children comic books.

Alfred is known as the co-creator of Richie Rich (along with Warren Kremer), and Little Dot.

  • In the 1995 film Casper, Kat and her family are named after Alfred Harvey.
  • As a curious fact he died in 1994 the same year that Harvey Comics ceased publishing for good.
  • Harvey appeared in a Casper story Real Goner. In it, Casper knew he was a comic book character and he asked Harvey for help to deal with a mischievous cartoonist.
